By this time, you have hopefully read the book, "Fighting Like A Girl And....I'm Still Standing...So Can You" and you've read the story from chapter three subtitled, "Paw, As I Remember the Story". Well, the dapper gentleman on the left is my Paw, one of the twenty-seven former slaves who founded and funded my alma mater, Grambling State University. Grambling State University is a historically black university situated in Grambling, Louisiana. I never knew Paw, but I love him and know that he loved me because he was thinking of me decades before I was born or even before my mother was born. He utilized his wealth and knowledge of the power of education to ensure that his children for generations would be granted opportunities that he as a slave and later freed slave was denied. "I will always love you, Paw and I will always remember. Your name lives on through Bianca Newby. We've gotchu because you held us and lead by example when you showed that "EDUCATION" is the most valuable gift in "LIFE". He's a handsome man and a thinker. You can see it in his eyes.
"And.....I'm Still Standing!"
Basically, my life during my season of darkness, but God kept me winning and TKOing. It's a spiritual battle and God wins EVERY SINGLE TIME!
